December 14, 2009 — TORONTO, CANADA – December 9th, 2009 – Coco Model Management, a Toronto-based professional modeling agency, has officially announced they will be supplying 10 runway models for the upcoming Anokhi celebrity fashion designer showcase.
The 4th annual Anokhi Awards Gala and Entertainment Show celebrates and features the talent of the global South Asian community by awarding honors to preeminent contributors to the South Asian cultural and entertainment movements. One of the headlining events will be the Celebrity Fashion Designer Showcase, which will feature runway models from the cutting-edge Coco Modeling Agency.
Coco Model Management proudly focuses on the representation of models with a fresh look, departing from the mainstream image of the models of the past. This modern movement in modeling challenges the idea that fashion models must be extremely skinny, tall, and fit a certain ethnic profile.
The Coco Modeling Agency represents models of a varying ethnic background, body type, and look. This new modeling paradigm embraced by Coco Models fits perfectly with the theme of the Anohki Fashion Show, which will showcase talent of various ethnic backgrounds and cutting-edge style.
The Anokhi Gala, to be held February 5th, 2010, will feature an award ceremony celebrating achievements in the progress of South Asian culture and style, multiple musical performances, and the runway fashion show, which will be headlined by Coco Models.
Previous Anokhi events have featured international celebrities of South Asian origin such as actors Freida Pinto, Lisa Ray, John Abraham, and Saira Mohan, fashion designers Alia Khan, Payal Singhal, Prriya & Chintan, and musical artists Swami, JoSH, Raghav, Karen David.
